DIY UPDATED Victoria’s Secret Beach Cover Up and Other Cover Ups Tutorial, FAQs and Patterns from La Vie en Rose here. This was one of my most popular summer posts here and Auna has kindly made a FAQ page with patterns for her cover ups to make them easier to construct (plus links to all the past beach cover up tutorials). *Please note bloggers are NOT allowed to post the patterns - it steals views away from La Vie en Rose’s site and she’s a friend of mine.

DIY Felt Cat Ears Bowler Hat Tutorial and Template from Now That’s Pretty here. The ears are 3D - not just a piece of flat felt sewed on the hat. This reminds me of the DIY Eugenia Kim Inspired Knit Cap with Cat Ears Tutorial from Rock Mosaic I posted here.

Washi Tape Coasters | Smashed Peas & Carrots
I remember the first time I saw washi tape in a project - I loved it but back then I could only find the tape in a Japanese import store and on etsy! Now you can find it everywhere and in lots of pretty colours. And there are so many awesome quick projects you can use it with. These pretty coasters are a great example. If you can’t find plain ceramic coasters, buy yourself some air dry clay and make your own!

They may as well alter that old saying to “look good from head to heel” because all eyes are on the artsy inches at the back of our shoes. Lucite blocks, metallic spikes and glam glitter have been taking footwear to bold new heights for the past few seasons. Along with WhoWhatWear, we’ve decided these bulbous glam Viktor & Rolf heels are the shoe crush of the season. Other designers that took part in this eye-popping trend include DVF, Hermès and Margiela. Step it up and have a ball with this j’amazing bauble heel!

To create: String silver beads onto wire in descending order; leave approximately 6 extra inches of wire, then use wire cutters to cut. Tightly wrap the extra wire slightly above the tip of the heel. Use a small piece of foil tape to hold wrapped wire in place. Use a heel liner to seal the opposite end of the wire to the inside of the shoe. Aim for a liner with padding to prevent the wire from rubbing against the back of your feet.

Mega Moisture Mask

Mixing:

  1. Split an avocado, remove the seed and spoon the whole thing into the blender bowl (or blender cup in this case).
  2. Add a little less than 1/4 teaspoon of Vitamin E oil. If you have Vitamin E gel capsules, pierce them and squeeze out the oil. If you’d rather, you can buy the oil for topical use.
  3. Pour 1 teaspoon of your favorite oil– jojoba, olive oil, sweet almond oil or coconut oil. I usually stick to olive oil because it’s worked wonders for me every time with this mask.
  4. Blend it up until it reaches a whipped/creamy consistency.

Application:

You can either put apply this all over or your can do the ponytail method! Put your hair up in a ponytail, saturate the ends and then cover with plastic wrap. Try to give it about 10 minutes at the least, go for 20 if you have the time! Then hop in the shower, shampoo and condition as usual. Blow your hair out or air dry for soft, shiny goodness!

~ * Message tutorial * ~

Supplies:

  • Any color marker
  • White sheet of paper
  • Cotton ball, tissue paper, or toilet paper

1. Pick any color marker and make some dots on a cotton ball, tissue, or toilet paper. The more dots you make the more concentrated the color will be.

2. With the paper make swirls on a white sheet of paper. This is going to give a cloudy-ish effect.

3.You can either print out your message using the paper or write it in yourself.

4. Rip and tear away paper around your message, or if you want a neater look just cut out with scissors.

5- Now place anywhere you want!

I put my message into a little bottle, filled it with confetti stars, and added a chain to make a necklace.

I hope you guys liked this little tutorial,

Have fun making your own =)
